Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Harish Agarwal received a call from an unknown number and a ransom of Rs. 10 lakh was demanded for the safety of his son. On this, the family reached the police station and registered a case. At 1 o’clock in the night, the police recovered Yug’s body from near Pala Sallu in Gabhana area.

In Aligarh, a convict has been sentenced to life imprisonment and a juvenile to 20 years of imprisonment for the murder of the son of a glove merchant of Delhi Gate area after kidnapping him. This verdict has been pronounced by the court of ADJ Special POCSO III Virendra Nath Pandey. Along with this, a fine of Rs 1.20 lakh each has also been imposed on both. Half the amount will be given to the victim’s family. Let us tell you that this incident was carried out for a ransom of Rs 10 lakh.
This incident happened on the morning of 1 October 2019. Sangeeta Agarwal, wife of glove trader Harish Agarwal, resident of Kunjalpur, had filed a case that her 13-year-old son Yug Agarwal had gone to the market at 9 am to buy goods, but he did not return. Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Harish Agarwal received a call from an unknown number and demanded a ransom of ten lakh rupees for the safety of his son. He was asked to arrange the money by four in the evening.
On this, the family reached the police station and registered a case. After some time, it was learnt that Yug was seen going on a bike with Gagan Gupta and his fellow juvenile offender from the neighbouring locality Nagla Maulvi Pratibha Colony Bannadevi. Meanwhile, a call came again and ransom was demanded. The police intensified their efforts. Both were arrested. On their indication, the police recovered Yug’s body near Pala Sallu in Gabhana area at one o’clock in the night.
He was strangulated to death. This was also confirmed in the postmortem. On this basis, a charge sheet was filed. The age of the juvenile offender was determined to be 16 years and one month in the court. On the basis of evidence and testimony during the trial in this case, the court has sentenced Gagan to life imprisonment and the juvenile offender to twenty years of imprisonment with a fine.
